chapter 3 magic colour changes.
hi there,i am fairly new to photo shop as my question will show.once i have loaded the pen tool path,to select just the body work.when it says create a new layer, does this mean a new layer and then go to image/adjustments/hue-saturation,or does it mean,a new fill or adjustment layer??.if i create a new layer then go to image adjustments,if changes the whole image and not just the body work.if i create a new layer and then go to image adjustments it says could not do requested task as the selected layer is empty.if i use create new fill or adjustment layer i can get as far as the roof, when it says the roof was selected from the red layer, does this mean the hue saturation layer that turnes the car red??.help, because this is the best book i have ever bought on photo shop, and i am keen to progress, but i will not until i can do this.again sorry for the lenghty questions but i am pulling my hair out!!.
thankyou for any help anyone can give.

Re: chapter 3 magic colour changes.
Vinny,

Actually, in the text I say "once the body paintwork has been made into a new layer". By this I mean using Control-J (Mac: Command-J) to make a new layer from the selection. If you simply create a new layer by itself, there will indeed be nothing in it. By doing the step as described here, we use the selection to make a layer that contains just the paintwork, so we can work on it isolated from the rest of the car.

Hope this helps! And, rather than risk premature baldness, please ask for help earlier next time!

Steve
