Layer mask
Hi - enjoying working through your book. On the example with the hand and psion, how do you get the drop shadow to apply between the thumb and psion? I've tried applying the shadow to the hand layer, but the shadow only appears underneath the hand, not between the thumb and psion. Also, you mention assigning a new layer purely for the drop shadow. Can't work out how to do that. Thanks, Iain |

Re: Layer mask
Iain, You need to create 2 new layers, 1 at the top of the stack, above the Psion layer, this is for the shadow on the Psion. The other layer goes between the Psion and the hand and is for the shadow under the Psion. You have to group the shadow layers with their underlying layers (CTRL+G) or from the Layers menu. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: Layer mask
Perfectly put, Trinity, thanks. If you're using Photoshop CS, though, remember it's now called 'Clipping Layer' and not 'Group'. |
