Image rejection.
Mystified, Would someone be kind enough to explain why, when images being posted appear to be getting increasingly large, my small offering (475 x 316 -101kb) is rejected. Am I misunderstanding? (101kb) is I believe smaller than (102.04kb). |

I had the same problem had to take my file down to 97kb I think it is something to do with the on disk size which is slighly higher than the file size. in windows if you right click your file choose properties you can see both sizes, Im not sure how to check on a mac |

Re: Image rejection.
When I want to post an image that is larger than 100kb, I don't post it on this site. I either put it on photobucket.com, or on my site, and link it to here. To post this way, instead of using the attachment link at the left, enter a statement in your post that looks like this: {img://www.domain.com/imagename.jpg} Of course replace the {} brackets with [] brackets. |

Re: Image rejection.
Dave, Thank you. I have made effort at various times to establish a domain name and web site, but always, I reach a point in the process at which I fail to understand the further requirements. I shall try again sometime |

Re: Image rejection.
Hi James, Maybe a good solution for you might be photobucket. http://photobucket.com/ You can sign up for a free account, and post your images there. They even give you a link to click that you copy the shortcut to your clipboard for you, and then you can paste that in here. Edit it to match the format I posted above, (It's also in the help link to the left of the area where you enter your message), and you are there. They have a file size limit too, but it is quite a bit larger than here.
Oh, I see you already have an account, so just try it like this. and again, just replace the {} with []. {img://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s211/fungismith/stretch.gif}

Re: Image rejection.
Hi, Just done a test on here but when you click the link it goes to Photobucket but states that the page is not found. I know that the photos are there as I can view them on the My Album section when in Photobucket. Any ideas? |

Image rejection.
Hi James and saint. I had the same issue when i joined as this forum requires a slightly different format for linked images. From your photobucket account there are 4 links under the image you upload, 2 of which are http: links, (ignore the [img] link as this won't work on here. The one you need is the second one which is http:/s77etc not the i77 one i.e. your link [IMG]]]http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j68/saint12661/2007_0804peteali0102-1.jpg[/IMG] Doesn't fit the criteria, if you edit it to look like this {IMG://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j68/saint12661/2007_0804peteali0102-1.jpg} With the curly brackets being square of course it should work. Hope this helps BTW, images for this site I will only post at 600pixels at it's widest side for the consideration of other users / viewers, if you want a really large image then I recommend just a clickable link which will take you to the host site as some of the animated gif posters do.
