Selecting Explosions
Hey everybody! I've been peeking around here while using the CS2 book, you guys really know your stuff So I'm hoping you can lend some advice..There's a section on using the "Blend If" section of the Layer Blending Options to separate gunshot from a black background (which I guess you could apply to a background of any solid color?) What would be the method for separating an explosion, or really anything whispy, from a busy background of many colors? Thanks!

Re: Selecting Explosions
Your best choice is probably to set the blending mode for 'the fireworks' to screen. If the bits you want to get rid of are dark use screen, if your object is on a light background use Multiply. What can help is to do a rough copy of your object, fill it with black and place between the 2 layers. good luck |
