Illustrator - Most annoying error EVER!!!
Illustrator Says; "An error occurred while processing the appearance of an object" My response all day has been; What error in particular??? What appearance??? And for goodness sakes man, WHAT OBJECT??? Sorry, I've been battling this error all morning to no avail. The file seems to work properly sometimes, and this error pops up when Illustrator just 'feels' like throwing fit... I'm using a combination of Smart Filters on a number of objects. I'm pretty sure it's one of those buggers, but I'm not quite sure how to isolate and fix this most annoying error. Also, are there any particular rules when working with Filters in Illustrator? Such as, does the object have to be a "Closed Path" in order for the filter to work properly? That could be the problem? Thanks in advance, --Chris |

Ahha! So far, the objects render properly when I change the Raster effects to 72dpi, but when I change them to 300dpi...Illustrator displays this error. |

Hi Chris, As I see it you have three choices 1 Restart the PC or 2 Go for a beer or 3 It's time to get that chainsaw fired up! I hate all those dialogue boxes that tell you that you have a problem and then don't tell either exactly what the problem is or how to fix it. I'm sorry I can't be of any actual help but at least the chainsaw solution is quite satisfying. Gordon |

Re: Illustrator - Most annoying error EVER!!!
lol Thanks, GKB. I don't have the chainsaw, but a baseball bat should do the trick.
Regretfully, this error keeps popping up and I'm at my wits end to figure it out. It's a Plat Conversion in the preliminary stages, so I've much to do still. I've uploaded the file onto the server if anyone wants to take a cracking stab. This error is popping up on other files as well. All seem to work properly when the Raster Effects are 72dpi, but set it to 300 and the program throws a fit. http://chrismartindesign.com/delete_s_lakes_plat.html Thanks in advance --Chris |
