Clouds filter does not do clouds with foreground and background colors only BW
I'm trying to follow along with the explosions.pdf sneak peek on the main page. Step 3:

"Now lock the transparency of the layer, by pressing /. Set the foreground color to yellow, and the background
color to red. Now choose Filter > Render > Clouds, which will
add a random texture of red and yellow to our object."

When doing so I get black and white clouds! Would anybody care to explain how to get the filter to use the foreground and background colors? Running CS3. Thx.

Hi Ernest,

I have just tried rendering red and yellow clouds and it worked for me.

At the top of your image window, does it say RGB? I am wondering whether you are working in greyscale mode. To check select Image>Mode to see what mode you are in.

Alternatively have you set any adjustment layers above the layer you are trying to render clouds on, e.g. Black & White or Hue & Saturation as they may be affecting what you are seeing.

Alternatively, you could be working on a Layer Mask, or on a single channel. Try making a new document, and give this another go!

I got it working correctly now, not sure what I was doing wrong before. Thanks.
