Curves
I hear that Curves can control Contrast and Tone. How do I go about doing this? |

Re: Curves
You can increase contrast in Curves by creating a simple "S" shape line create 3 points on the Curves line: one in the middle which is Midtones and 2 at halfway points between the middle point and the end points. The point you created midway to the left should be your shadow areas and the one midway to the right will be your highlight area. Move the point you created midway to the Right upwards to increase the brightness of the highlights and move the point you created midway to the Left downwards to darken shadow areas - the point in the middle really is just to anchor the two end points but if you move it upwards it will brighten the midtones or down to darken them. If you move the shadow point (Left) upwards and the highlight point (Right) downwards you will lower contrast. sorry I haven't an image to show you this more clearly (uploading a video at the time of writing so no screencap ability at the moment) hopefully you will understand by what I've wrote anyway. |
