WhAT! [edited by chris]
What on EARTH does this mean??? Ok, I've been working on a montage for about 3 strong hours. It's a tribute hand drawn for my brother who is fighting in Iraq. I try to save, and I get a ""PROGRAM ERROR"" and cannot save. I look into my scratch disks and this screen pops up. What does this mean??? Having the C drive (Startup disk) Highlighted in Yellow??? Never seen the YELLOW HIGHLIGHT before!!!
Currently, my document is open in Photoshop, but cannot save because of a rediculous "program error"! What does this mean??? How can I work around?? Did I just loose all my work??? 3.5 hrs hand-drawn painting. I'm sure you can imagine my frustration!
I'll keep Photoshop Open unti, hopefully someone has seen the "Cannot save because of a Program Error" error before...

Re:
Correction... I did a "Screen Grab" in order to save the ful-res composite. It worked and I saved it to my desktop.... but I seem to have lost the 300 dpi original.

Re: WATDAFUK!!!
Have you tried Save As with a different name? Or doing a Save As in TIFF format, which will preserve the layers intact? Sometimes helps! |

You should also change the drive order, having your system drive as the primary is a bad move as it's always battling with the OS's virtual memory space. _________________ If you hold on to the past, sooner or later you'll lose your grip. |

Re: WATDAFUK!!!
My commiserations, I have also occasionally had the could not save due to programme error (still only got CS2), and yes I lost what I had been working on. Never known the reason why. (I'm really not computer literate enough to start ferreting around) so I turn everything off and it's then ok, but now whenever I am working on something I save as I go along, just to check all is ok. |

Re: WATDAFUK!!!
David's correct. You've got lots of memory. You've got loads of hard disk space on Drive F (is it?). That should be your primary. Hopefully it's an internal and not an external hard disk. It would frighten the life out of me to have just 11 gigs free on the C-drive and letting Photoshop use it! Plus make a habit of saving regularly on a big job. You never know when it can all go pear-shaped. And, please? Less profanity. |

Re:
Thanks everyone for the help. I have the F drive as the primary, D drive as secondary, and C Drive last. (Not sure what caused the change) I still haven't figured out what the yellow highlight means. It went away when I closed Photoshop and re-opened. Apologies on the tone of my original post. It was late, and I had a trip or two to the bubbly in the refrigerator. I had a very rough day yesterday, and thought I could relax on the laptop with Photoshop. So much for that. [edit: I've removed the profanity. Sorry about that] |
