How to get rid of the thin white thing around the text?
Hi, I was creating a logo but noticed that against a darker background, the very thin white thing shows around the text. I tried to create the same background for the text logo but it's difficult to make both the logo and website backgrounds seamless. Is there a way to make the white line go away or at least make both logo background and website background to match as seamless? Here's the sample of the logo text: Thanks! ![]() |

Another sample, showing both logo and web backgrounds not seaming together as seamless. ![]() |

Re: How to get rid of the thin white thing around the text?
Clarification: The first pix above shows logo without background (like transparent) but shows thin white line around the text The second pix shows logo with the same wood background which removes the thin white line but shows line between both backgrounds. Thanks for your help in advance! |

I don't get the connection between removing the white line and the mismatched wood background line. Do you have "How to Cheat in PhotoShop CS3"? In the 4th edition on page26 it shows how to loose the white edge from cutouts on dark backgrounds. |

Re: How to get rid of the thin white thing around the text?
Hi Cy98, Sorry about the confusion. I was asking if I couldn't remove the white thing around, then how do I make both backgrounds seamless on the website (after filling in the wood background on the logo). I'll check the page 26 and see if I can fix the white thing. Thanks for the page info. |

There are a couple of ways you can do this. 1) Select your text. Go to the menu, and choose Select>Modify>Contract. From the dialog contract by one pixel. Press Ctrl or Cmd I to invert the selection and delete. This will remove the offending pixels. 2) Try setting you layer mode for the text to Multiply. |

I think you mean Ctrl-Alt-I or Cmd-Option-I, Dave...
By the way that's the way I would do it also... _________________ |

It works and thanks for your suggestions! Now, I have the similar problem, this time with the images. How do I remove it? I tried your suggestions but it didn't work. What I need is removing the white thing and make sure the images look realistic with the shadows. Here's the sample of white thing surrounding the image. Many thanks! ![]() |

That looks like it's been put there deliberately. Again, it would be a case of loading up the selection, contracting it, inversing and deleting (or masking it out). _________________ A happy-go-lucky chap, always dressed in black |

You mean I need to do that on each piece at a time? Or can it be done in whole without doing it individually? Thanks |
