Entwining Letters
I took the tutorial on the graphics.com website http://www.graphics.com/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=700 I got lost half way through. I selected the S, control/clicked the thumbnail of the S, select, modify and expanded the selection by 8. then it says to make a layer mask of the R...I assume you mean with the S selection. If I do that, then the S stays with blobs or R showing. If I used the S selection and made it inverse it worked..I think... What did I miss there?? Thank you _________________ Sharon J. Re: Entwining Letters
After expanding the selection by 8 pixels, you need to switch to the R layer and add a layer mask using Layer > Add Layer Mask > Reveal All (that way, nothing is hidden on the mask, it starts out blank). With the expanded S shape still selected, making sure the S layer is behind the R layer, paint out the S on the mask using a hard edged brush. Because the letters intertwine, there are two ways you can do this, as explained further up in the tutorial. If you still have problems - take a screen grab of the image you're working on, with the layers palette visible, and post it here so I can see what's going wrong! Steve |
