Opening a card in a card reader
I have been succesfully using a card reader with multiple slots attached to my computer to read the pictures on a compact flash card. I recently bought a camera that uses sd cards and the card will not open in the card reader but will open when I attach the camera to the computer. I have tried a different computer with a different card reader to read the sd card but have also been unsuccessful. It is a 4 GB card. Any ideas or help would be most appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Opening a card in a card reader
Hi Marty, There is a problem with cards over 2gb capacity, apparently they don't comply with the SecureDigital Association spec, meaning that they are not backward compatible with legacy devices. Here is a link about HDSC cards that may help. http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/pdf/retail/SDHC1.pdf rufus |

Re: Opening a card in a card reader
You need a new card reader. Make sure it specifies HDSC on the reader before you buy it, it's a different format to the old one. |
