How to create ENGRAVING, or WOODPRINTED pics: Dear all & Mr. Steve Hill
Hello Mr. Steve Caplin and Hello all New here from Thailand. Eager to know some sharply-great tips from veterans here. (Not quite sure relevant topic already made here. Sorry if it was.) Would you mind guiding me how to create some engraving, or woodprinted pics from ordinary pics? (I think the outcomes should be in 1 color. Am I right?) I've already read this topic about creating the embroidery. http://www.howtocheatinphotoshop.com/cgi-bin/simpleforum_pro.cgi?fid=02&topic_id=1240914562 and http://www.worth1000.com/tutorial.asp?sid=161039 It's great! I've tried steps in those topics as mentioned, added my some own steps to make pic engraved or woodprinted. The outcome was quite unsatisfying. So, like to learn in here. Dear Mr. Steve Hill Your pic-icon appearing in this forum is as good as what I've imagine my outcome to be. Would you mind teaching me how? All suggestions welcome! |

This is an interesting technique. I deal with it in my book Art & Design in Photoshop, and essentially it involves applying multiple sets of diagonal line patterns to Thresholded versions of the image. It's quite a fiddly process. If you want to make it easier, there's a plug-in from Flaming Pear software that does an excellent job! |

hi panacea Thanks for you kind comment, It is based on a tutorial from Tim Shelbourne you can find it here http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/pencil_sketch/index.html I then made my own adjustments and removed some layers to get the final image. |
