Blending two backgrounds
I have two backgrounds and I want one to slowly turn into the other. How do I do that? I have a jungle background (trees and foliage) and a brick wall background. I want the top left to be completely jungle and the bottom right to be completely brick wall. One way I could do this is to have an opacity gradient on the jungle layer that goes from 100% at the top left to 0% to the bottom right and have the brick layer underneath. Is there a way to do that? Or some other way to achieve this effect? I would think it can't be that hard. |

create a mask on the top layer, then do a gradient on the mask. If this doesn't make sense, let me know and I will try a better explanation, or send me the file and I will show you. vibeke@friis.co.nz _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Hi Paul I agree with Vibeke. If this is what you're looking for, bring both pics into the file on different layers. The order I used was bricks on top and jungle below. Select the bricks layer and create a mask. Select the gradient and cloose black / white. Drag diagonally from top left to bottom right. The longer the drag, the greater the transition will be. Just keep dragging at different angles until you have the desired effect. Nick ![]() |
