Problem with "Droplet" files for Full Montage Readymades
Hello all,

This is my first post here since I only bought the HTCIPS CS4 book this past week. I sent the following message out as an e-mail at the "Full Montage" website earlier today, but I thought that this forum may be more appropriate for my issue...

I'm having problems with the droplet files in the "Fullmontage" folder, which came on the DVD. I am not able to drag and drop my artwork onto the droplet files, and I can't open them (the droplet files) in PS . As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that the droplet files are not being recognized as actual action files because the icons for them are generic (see attached file), not the "blue down arrow" icons that they should be. I've searched through the Adobe Community Help section and also through the HTCIPS Reader Forums but I can't seem to find a solution for this problem. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with the droplet files being created on a Mac? I'm on Windows Vista currently, and using PS CS4 extended. I would certainly appreciate any help you could provide, as I'm anxious to work with those readymades on the DVD.

Mike

Mike,

This seems to be a Vista problem. All you have to do is add ".exe" to the end of the droplet name, and the system should then know what it is and be able to work with it correctly.

Hope this helps!

That did the trick! Thank you so much for the response Steve. And thanks also, for authoring such a useful book and providing all of those extra goodies on the DVD. It's rare these days to buy something and feel like you got more than you paid for, but that's exactly how I'm feeling.

Well, what a great response! Thank you!

Remember, one of the most important parts of the book is this forum. Do make full use of it!
