How come an image turns into a selection when it is pasted onto a layer with active quick mask after the mask is turned off? Please explain - do not quite grasp the inner workings of the procedure. Thanks, Martti |

When we do this, the black (they'll appear red) areas will be selected, and the white areas will be unselected on leaving QuickMask. So we're effectively pasting the image as a separate channel, rather than as a proper image. Does this make sense? If you're having trouble getting your head around this approach, you could always try turning the threshold image into a channel instead - Select All, Copy, then make a new Channel and Paste. |
