Free fonts
I would like to add to my very modest range of fonts, but all the "free" font websites seem to require membership or other payment to download (obviously some new usage of the word "free" that I was hitherto unaware of) - any recommendations/suggestion? _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Re: Free fonts
http://www.dafont.com is my favourite Josephine. No registration required and a huge selection in lots of different categories. A brilliant site. Wayne _________________ Justice for the '96 YNWA |

Re: Free fonts
Forgot to mention that if you ever see a particular font you like either on a website, magazine or even while your out and about with your camera, take a snapshot/scan/photo of the font and goto this website http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont .This website will almost always tell you what font has been used and where you can get it. The search facility is free but some of the fonts you have to pay for. Very useful. Wayne _________________ Justice for the '96 YNWA |

Re: Free fonts
If you are using a PC Josephine you can do it a couple of ways. If you have a new OS like Vista or Windows 7 you can just right click on the font and select install. If you're using Windows XP you will need to go to C:\WINDOWS\FONTS and drop them in there. Once that's done photoshop will automatically recognise the new fonts. Re: Free fonts
I seem to be struggling - I have downloaded a fontfile directly to fonts, and have also downloaded it to documents, unzipped it and extracted the contents to fonts ... but it does not show up either in the fonts folder or the font menu (even though when I tried to download it again the computer swore blind there was already a copy there.) I have windows xp - what am I doing wrong? _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |
