How to cheat in Photoshop CS3, The Lasso and Magic Wand
Hi all, I purchased this book some time ago and I am having problems with the tutorial for this chapter. there was this picture of two guys wearing suit and i am stuck at the area whereby I need to use the lasso tool to fix the part where the magic wand leaked into the paper and the collars. Would any kind soul with this edition of the book provide me some advice. I've hold on to the shift key and use the lasso tool and draw along the area which i do not want to be selected by the magic tool but nth happens ![]() |

Hi Vero, Thanks. I figured that part out. However I realise that using the lasso tool wont help me to remove the selection precisely. How do I go about that? |

The Lasso tool requires a little skill in order to make it behave. You could try releasing the alt key after you start to make the second selection, then pressing it again. This makes the tool act like a Polygonal Lasso, which enables you to trace straight lines. Alternatively, many people find it easier to draw precise selections using QuickMask, as you'll find out slightly later in the book. |
