problem selecting text
I am having a frustrating time trying to select each letter in the attached image. I want to select the letters with the inside patterns included but when I use the magic wand it selects just the white borders and not the inside contents.
Is there a simple way to do this that I am not aware of or does it require a tedious selecting of all the different patterns inside the letters?

I have this image as a high quality tiff but only 102.4kb is allowed for upload.

Hi Jen
I would probably have used the pen tool. but if you want to use the magic wand it's still quite easy.
Once you have selected the white, Easy done in this photo by unclicking 'continues' All the white is selected in at once.
press Q to switch to Quick Mask.
now use a brush to paint inside each letter.
press Q again, and it's done.
Suggest you then use a mask, so if you have missed anything it's easily changed.

Vibeke,
You beat me to it. Once you have the white selected you can of course switch to any other selection tool, and by clicking on the second box on the top bar - Add to selection

Thanks vibeke and Deborah! worked great and so good to know.
Here's what I had to do so you see if this is was the right way to go about it.
After I switched to QuickMask, the white border selection was lost (is that normal ?) So I reselected it the border in Quick Mask mode.

Then I chose INVERSE selection so that I could paint inside each letter without worrying bout spilling into the white border.

Also, in the meantime I came up with another way to do it. I just used the magnetic lasso tool to trace all around the outside edges of the letters, was lot easier than I thought.

Thanks again, you been a great help.
