Two questions
One: How or what is short key for making Render Filters to generate smaller and more details effect? Second: Is it possible to use layer mask on channels(bump maps) for 3D lighting effects ? Thanks for help. |

Re: Two questions
With the Clouds filter, hold the alt key to produce a tighter effect. As far as I know, that's the only Render filter this works with. You can't add a layer mask to a channel, no - channels don't behave like regular layers in that way. They're really intended for storing selections; it's only incidental that they can be used for bump maps as well. If you're making a design for a bump map, you're best building it as a regular Photoshop layer or series of layers. When you're happy with the way it looks, make a merged copy, then make a new channel and paste it in. Be sure to make a new layer, filled with white, to apply your Lighting Effect to. |
