Brushes
I want to make my own brushes and would like to reduce the hardness of them. The option for hardness is greyed out. Is there anyway to make it active for my brushes or for those currently available that I also cannot adjust? Thank you Anna ![]() _________________ Dorothy: "there's no place like home!" |

Re: Brushes
Hi Anna, No luck from me I'm afraid. Online help says you can't change the hardness of sample brushes, and that hardness is only available for photoshop round brushes. I ended up using a brush just once, putting a gaussian blur on it and then making another brush from that. If you make two versions of your brush, one nice and large and one quite small, when you use the small brush at a large size you will get a softness to it; but also a blockiness if you try and make it too big. Now, please someone, knock me down in flames and tell how it can be done! |

Re: Brushes
I think the only way to do this is first to paint with your own brush on a separate layer and than apply a gaussian blur. But I like Deborah solution as well. Stefano _________________ Think less and do more Fabio Sasso |

Re: Brushes
Thank you for your replies Deb and Stefano. I thought as much. I tried everything within my knowledge base to work it out..I came to the conclusion it couldn't be done..but just had to ask to make sure. Gaussian blur should do the trick. ![]() _________________ Wicked Witch of the West:I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too! |

Re: Brushes
You can only adjust the hardness of round brushes. But if you're making your own, why not blur the brush before you create it? |

Re: Brushes
Sorry this late. I'm up the walls moving and my mother Deborah, We will never shoot you down in flames. Reminds of one of Berlin's songs, I think Anna could do a great one with one of her videos ![]() I am not really a brush expert, but I have created some. On the outside they start "grey" . And they seem ok? Anna Can you not go back to your sample and "grey" / fuzzy it? Again no expert here. I scan them in from my images. Really funny, but very interesting results. Great fun with all the brush controls. I guess this in line with Steve's comment so now adds little and late apart from support. Trevor |

Re: Brushes
Thanks Steve and Trevor. Its worked out well..as during the exploration process I discovered a few new things as far as blurring and opacity goes. ![]() _________________ Wicked Witch of the West: I'm melting! I'm melting! |
