Type Tool Problems....
I just started to use the type tool to do some text for the first time. My application is not reacting properly or I am not understanding where the text tool is--I click the large T and choose horizontal. All I get is a dot on the doc and the letter T (though I have not typed the letter T). What am I missing? Thanks, Kathryn Tate ... Thanks for the reply. I still cannot type text after I see a dot. Also, there is a text rendering process which is strange to me. And I cannot quit Photoshop when in Type tool; I have to restart my mac. ... I also have Elements 9 and the Type tool doesn't work in that either. After the dot, I typed so,me text and just a straight line was made! I am doing something wrong. |

Kathryn, Is it possible you have a really tiny text size selected? Such as 1pt? Or perhaps your Type tool is set up in an odd way. Can you take a screenshot of your entire screen, with panels, while you're using the Type tool - so we can check out what might be wrong? Also, when adding to an existing thread on the forum, it's easier to follow if you put additional comments in the Reply box at the bottom, rather than starting a new topic each time. Hello, One thought, if you have the same colour set for your type tool as the background all you will see is a line - the type will be there. Try changing the colour of the background. |

When you write a post there's a link to the left of the window just above the smileys that says attachment. Click that, then at the bottom of the window use the browse button. Make sure your image is no bigger than 102kb and about 640x480 _________________ I've fallen and I can't get up. |

Just to add to Dooley, if you have not tried before, to grab the image onto clipboard for PS, press Print Scrn, then open PS create new document, and paste/Ctrl-v, top paste into new new document. Crop it and as Dooley says Save For Web Devices to reduce size and resolution, in reality needs to be 97kb or less. When saved on your PC, attach as Dooley says. |

I had to go into com.adobe .photoshop in the preferences library and discad it. Did the same with elements, though different files. Thanks, now I can get back to doing creative stuff. Kathryn |
