Tweening as a pastime
Right, I've got the bit firmly between my teeth now and I'm playing at Tweening for the retired. Reading Steve's answer to my question this morning I tweened and re-created this Gif, http://www.tedeggs.com/animation/Tweening.gif and it works. Now what if I wanted the ball to take a swerving path following the red line or any other line or circle can I tween that? If so how? Ted PS. How do I draw a single line with the pen tool so the end doesn't join up with the beginning? I'm sure I'm missing something. |

Ted, I haven't tweened in Photoshop, only had a quick go in Flash. But can you not put a frame in the middle of your sequence that has the golf ball at the highest mid point of the curve that you want? Sophie |

Hi Ted, hope you're well. "How do I draw a single line with the pen tool so the end doesn't join up with the beginning? I'm sure I'm missing something". If you have the pen set to paths (not shape layers), it should just be a question of clicking where the path is to start and again where it's to finish. Create a new layer and you can stroke the path with a number of tools. If you want to create a sub-path, CTRL click away from the path and you can then draw the sub-path, which won't join with the original. Regards Nick |

Re: Tweening as a pastime
Thanks Sophie and Nick for your responses. I have played this morning with tweening a curve. I found tweening only goes in a straight line so to make a curve you have to have many waypoints with variable tweeings. This is the result to date. http://www.tedeggs.com/animation/curvedputt.gif Nick, Creating a new layer was the the bit I hadn't thought of. Every time I tried to load the pixels I was getting the whole frame! Further, I was having a problem with HoTCHiPS4 Chap 12. The book says to CTRL click on the layer's name to load pixels rather than, as I should have remembered, on the layer's icon. Yet further, it doesn't say to delete the Pen path after the pixels are loaded. How long have I been using PS? When will it sink in? ![]() Ted |
