Layers and docs
This is simple, but I don't have the answer. I am brand new to Photoshop. I am trying to blend an image with a layer that has gradient painting on it. I need the gradient layer to be beneath the image. When I import the image hoping it will reside above the gradient layer, it opens a new doc altogether. I need the image to import to the same doc as the gradient layer. How do I do this? Thanks, Kathryn |

Re: Layers and docs
Hi Kathryn, If I understand correctly you are trying to place a layer from one document into another document? Open both documents and select the one that you want to transfer. In the layers palette select the layer that you want to transfer. Now click and drag the layer onto the document that you want it to be transferred to. If you hold down the Shift key at the same time this action will centre the image. Hope this helps. Gordon _________________ You do not need a parachute to skydive. Re: Layers and docs
Hello Kathryn. From what you describe my guess is all you need is to select the move tool at the top of the left hand then select and drag the new imported document into the image to which you want it to be added. It should then add a new layer which you can, again, drag up and down the layer stack. Ted |
