Making Hi-Rez iPhone Tab Bar Icons Correctly
In the past I have made tab bar icons, but when viewed on the iPhone4 (retina display) they always look jagged and very lo-rez. The Apple specs require 60x60 pixel icons.

My questions are these:
Is it best to start with a 100x100 pixel file and reduce down?
Or begin with a 60x60 pixel file and not reduce down?

I have tried simiar methods and somehow, always seem to end up with tacky, lo-rez-looking icons.

All comments and suggestions will be most welcome.

Thanks,
Phillip Anthony

Since the retina display on the iPhone 4 is exactly double that of the earlier models, you should be working at 120x120 pixels. Reducing an image size by precisely half will guarantee better quality results as much less interpolation is required.
