Blending Options
Hello All,
Having worked my way through the cheat in elements book I'm finally trying to get to grips with the full version CS5.
Sorry but I'm stuck on page 78, been trying to lemon fresh bottle that Steve made but need a little more help on how to create it please.
Best Regards, Rob.

Re: Blending Options
Rob,

I don't give full instructions for how to create the bottle because I wasn't able to supply the bottle image itself on the DVD for copyright reasons.

However, the technique is similar to the one used for the gun. In the case of the bottle, these are the steps I took:

1. Distorted a copy of the G2 logo using the Spherize filter.

2. Placed the distorted logo above the bottle, and use opt-cmd-G / alt-ctrl-G to turn the bottle into a clipping mask, so the distorted logo was visible only over the bottle.

3. In the Layer Styles dialog, I used Layer Blending to hide the brightest part of the bottle layer using the 'underlying layer' section, as explained on the following page.

4. I then masked opaque areas such as the bottle cap manually.

Does this make sense? Welcome to the forum!

Steve

Re: Blending Options
Hi Steve. Thanks a lot I've got it. I've not done a great job of the water drops but its started to sink in, I'm just struggling to remember when to use all the different techniques. Best Regards, Rob.
