Problems with CS6 Trial - Uninstall before buying?
Hi I'd like some advice. The beta version gave me a few GUI problems. Whenever I opened an existing image from Bridge, square sections of the image did not load properly and appeared with the chequerboard pattern like a blank new layer. There were one or two other minor problems. Would you advise me to uninstall the beta before purchasing and installing the official new CS6? Did anyone else experience similar problems and what was their solution? I couldn't see any Adobe forum posts about this. Sophie |

I am pretty sure you HAVE to uninstall it first. There should be an uninstaller with it. I just deleted the app and when I came to install the proper one it complained and about a pre-release version being installed. I had to download something from the Adobe site to clear it out. It installed fine after running that. I never had any issues with the beta or now with the proper one. |

Sophie, I've had problems with GUI before with later versions of PS. No problems with Beta so far and guess won't unless fall out of CS6 trial soon ![]() With the other versions, namely CS5 did have, but from my graphics card manufacturer website I could download an updated version of the driver for free that was compatible with PS's latest GUI interface language used (see my posts given sometime ago). That solved the problems for me.. Not sure this is your problem, but worth a try? Trevor |

I think the beta is well and truly over now, but just in case, there is a thread on how to remove the beta before installing the full release on the Adobe forums: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/995433 If you have tried and it all went pearshaped, then there is a cleaner tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html Run the tool which will bring up a list of Adobe apps. Just choose Photoshop CS6 _________________ Trevor Dennis www.flickr.com/photos/trevor-dennis/ |

I always tell users to make a system backup (an image of your start partition. You would have had made such an image before you installed CS6 trail, so you could always go back to your version before this action. A bit slow, but fine systembackup program is EaseUS Todo Backup Free: http://nl.afterdawn.com/downloads/beveiliging/backup_software/easeus_todo_backup_free.cfm Than you can be 100% sure there are no traces of the trial to be found. |
