Photoshop CS2
I am really struggling with the quick mask under the topic of Drawing in perspective.

I do what it says, but for some reason, when I press the Q, the quick mask doesn't appear. Thus, I can't go any further. Any ideas?

Re: Photoshop CS2
Hi pghrtist,

When you select Quick Mask without having already made a selection you won’t see anything on screen. To see quick mask in operation press Ctrl/Cmd D to deselect everything. Press D to select the default colours of Black and White. Now press B to select the Brush tool. Now press Q. You still won’t see anything. Painting on the image with Black selected will result in a red colour appearing. This is your Quick Mask. Depending on your preferences this will indicate either masked areas or selected areas.

If you double click on the Quick Mask icons below the colour selection you will get a dialogue box that allows you to change how Quick Mask works including the colour of the Quick Mask.

With a red area painted in Quick Mask just press Q again and you will find the marching ants running around your selection.

This selection can, of course, be made more permanent by adding a layer mask to the layer.

Hope this helps. If it doesn’t just ask again.

Gordon
