Help with Photoshop CS5
I am attempting to learn QuickMask1 on page 8 (CS5 book). Step 10 says to use the curves adjustment to lighten the right side of the person. However, when I do this the curves layer lightens the whole man, not just the shadow side which has been created as a separate layer. How do I affect only one layer with curves? |

Please re-read step 9. Allways create a selection first otherwise Photoshop assumes you want the whole Layer to edit. Quickmask is a nice tool to create (paint) a selection. |

You're right, Sjef, but Wanda says she's created the shadow side as a separate layer. First, Wanda, don't make a new layer from the selection - just exit QuickMask and leave it as a selection on the existing layer. And second, make sure you're adding Curves as an Adjustment (Layer > Adjustments > Curves), and not as an Adjustment Layer. |
