again, the liquify tool
Hello, thank you for looking at my problem. When I am going to use the liquify tool/forward warp tool on a picture, the whole picture moves with the tool as if I was using the "hand tool", so I cannot accomplish the effect. What am I doing wrong? Thank you

Hello Emy

I tried every way , (as Locked background --- smart object etc , thinking that might attribute to the issue) to see if "the whole image" would move ... it did not . But , however , if you are referring to not wanting certain areas not be affected by the brush (forward warp) you can use the "Freeze Mask" tool , in Ps CC is the 8th one down from the left tool panel . Just mark the areas you don't want to be liquified.

I hope I am understanding your issue right , but in case I am not , and that you do know what I suggested , please accept my apologies in advance , and good luck .

Oh and PS ... Try to keep your hand off the space bar (it turns it to a hand)

Re: again, the liquify tool
Is it possible that you're using Liquify on a small image, with an enormous brush size?

Re: again, the liquify tool
Hi Emy, I have just seen your post .... and Steve's suggestion.

I have made a little video on You Tube to try and demonstrate how the liquify tool appears to act differently on images of different size using different settings.

Hope it is helpful and that you and James don't mind me "borrowing" your images for demo purposes.

Vern

Thank you Steve & Big Vern. Steve, what you just describe is EXACTLY what was happening. The brush size was enormous. Thank you so much!! how did you know that?
