Edition 6, Chapter 7 P.173 - Trouble with Step 3
I can't figure out the instructions on step three. I noticed there was a movie icon on the side of the page but when I went to the Web site, there wasn't a movie! Can anyone help me with these directions: "To shade the left side of the face, first duplicate the Adjustment Layer, again using the portrait as a Clipping Mask, ..."? Does this mean I have to duplicate both the Adjustment Layer and the clipping mask layer or can I just duplicate the Adjustment Layer? Thanks in advance for your help, Sara |

Duplicate the Adjustment Layer as described. You can still use the same base layer as a Clipping Mask, since you can stack up clipped layers on top of each other - just choose Create Clipping Mask from the Layer menu. The website only includes movies from the latest edition, for Photoshop CC. The movie you want should have been on the DVD that came with the book. |

Thank you so much, Steve. I should have thought there might be videos on the DVD. I just viewed it and it was very helpful. I have had to learn Photoshop on my own from books. This is the first time I feel like I have an instructor who I can ask questions. I have learned so much from your book and I'm only half way through it. Thank you once again for all your help. |

I saw in another post that you said it was OK to use what we did in the exercises as portfolio fodder. Once I viewed the video on the DVD Here is what I came up with: (I took out the 'with curves' out of the title because I don't necessarily want others to know how I did it.) ![]() |
