Selection problems with Glass: Refraction
For the life of me I could not get step two to work for me. I could load up the vase just fine, but once I switched to the Elliptical Marquee tool and tried pressing ctrl+alt, Photoshop wanted to make a copy of the vase. Since the point of this step was simply to select the bowl portion of the vase, I switched to the pen tool and made my selection that way. Below is the screenshot of the completed lesson. ![]() _________________ I'm still learning. |

Well, that's most interesting. That tutorial has been in the book for all eight editions, and you're the first person to notice that I got the shortcuts wrong - it should of course be Shift Alt, not Ctrl Alt. Oops! |

It's OK, I'm glad to know it wasn't me. Oh my, I just found that back in Natural Selection you mention this technique on p. 13, as part of making the lozenge shape. If my mind wasn't such a sieve these days, maybe I would have remembered this. Perhaps that's why no one told you about this error before. They all must have better memories than I do. -Sara _________________ I'm still learning. |
