Perfect Neon
Hi Steve, I've got problem with the tutorial "Lighting up: perfect Neon" (Eighth Edition, page 198-199). I've got stuck at step 7. Could you describe in details the step please. Thank you |

Not quite sure what the problem is here, but ok... First load up the layer as a selection by holding Command/Ctrl and clicking on the layer's thumbnail in the Layers Panel. This selects both words. You only want to select the top word, so you need to subtract the bottom one from the selection. You could hold alt and drag the marquee tool over it to remove it from the selection; or, as I've suggested, hold alt and shift and drag over the top word to deselect the bottom one. Then use Select > Modify > Feather to add some softness to the lettering selection. Make a new layer, and use alt-backspace to fill the selection with colour on that layer. |
