Hue/Saturation Issue
I recently needed an image of the below key fob in red but could only find one in blue, I therefore thought it would be a simple job to use the Hue/Saturation tool to change the original blue image to red. However when I did this it came out very pixilated and lost a lot of detail. Any suggestions on how to overcome this or why the Hue filter does this? Thanks ![]() |

Re: Hue/Saturation Issue
It's all down to the amount of jpeg compression in the original image. You don't notice it because the blues are all very similar in tone; but when you shift the hue the differences become much more apparent. The best solution is to use Select Color Range to select the blues first, then use a Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer and check the Colorize box. This produces a much more even range of tones: ![]() |
