Wait, are you saying you agree with splitting up the lines or not to do it? Also, the reason I switched to the perspective tool is that I struggled forever with the free transform. I just couldn't get it right. Thanks |

Any chance I could send someone the original file (of the long's label) so I could see exactly how you you would do it in actual layers in a photoshop file? The problem is I am not understanding half of what you guys are trying to explain to me and my husband is coming home from Iraq tomorrow after 13 months, so I'm doing my best to get this finished, but I feel like I'm not getting anywhere and I'm really freaking out over it. I still have two more of these after this (a whip and a paddle) so I feel like I if I could just see what you mean in an actual photoshop file, I might be able to get it right. Thanks |

Hi Sallie My preference would be to move the text as one, but that very much depends on the image. Thinking about this further, there is a real perspective issue here, in that you are looking horizontally, i.e. eye level at the word Longs, but downward to Keep Cold. For this reason the extrusion on the text will be different. Therefore, I would suggest a compromise. If you move all the text together and warp / liquify as I suggested earlier, then the text perspective will be correct. You can then split the lines of text into blocks and place on separate layers, trying different directions for extrusion as appropriate. When transforming, the clue is the tread on the sole of the boot, so use this as a guide. To make life easier, do you have to use all the text? There is fine detail there, which maybe detracts from the message. Perhaps keep it simple and confine the text to key words, placed at the top of the sole, which will alleviate much of the hard work, but still retain the concept and message. I'll be happy to have a go at this for you, but much depends on your deadline. If it can wait until after the weekend, then happy to have a go on Saturday. I just don't get the chance during the week. Nick |
