Realistic ice!!

Hi am currently working on a picture that requires a little boys head to be frozen and incased in ice

may sound evil but its supposed to be a brain freeze u know the ones you get when you eat ice cream to fast

. Any way i have created this so far using a plig in i have but its realy bad and dosent look anything like i want although the breath looks fairly spot on wouldny you say. Any way if you can help that would be great thanks alot.

James,

Ice can be tricky stuff to draw. I'd recommend you first make a new Hard Light layer, then paint in gray around and inside the head with a hard edged brush. Use Dodge & Burn and the Plastic Wrap filter to make it shiny.

If you like, upload the original of your pic and I'll show you exactly what I'm talking about.

Maybe use a real ice image and do it something on the lines of this.
I'll have to try some of Steve's recomendations.

Hey all heres that pic steve sorry i never posted it up sonner but i just got my broadband installed tonight so ave not had the net for a day or 2 anyway here it is ave had a go with what you said but i cant seem to find the darn file
