New question
I was able to get what I was looking for with the magazines with all your help but when I sized them down to the size I needed them to fit on my header I couldn't tell that they were even magazines nevermind Playboy's. My Question: If I take another image of a stack of 12 like I had before but this time I set my camera to the highest resolution will that make a difference when I size it down? |

Using a higher resolution will certainly make a difference but it all depends upon the size of your banner ad how much detail is retained. Perhaps the idea of a stack of magazines in this case is not the best idea - try laying out your magazines and then photographing them either as a perspective shot with the magazines going off into the distant or shot from above as a flat background image. The primarily task of what you're trying to convey is the quantity of magazines and that it's Playboy, but that doesn't mean you have to cram everything into a 400 x 80 pixel banner - sometimes less is best. Let me see if I can create something to demonstrate my point which I will display here. Becky edit: I'm presuming 400 by 80 so you may have more room to work with but here's a rough idea.

Becky, Tha's a great banner mind if I use the idea for my banner, the only thing I would change is I would ahve 4 different issues rather than 4 different colors of the same issue. I know thats all you had to work with and it was only a example..... The header I am trying to make will be about 800 X 200-250 here is what I have in mind so far I will have my Playbouguy logo as the center piece ( meaning it will be the eye catcher) on the "P" of the logo I will have a pic of me sitting on the "P" as if I was sitting on a toilet with a robe on (like hef) with a pipe in my mouth reading the 50th anniversary issue. the magazines stacks were going to be for background but I am VERY open to other options and now that you know exactlly what I am doing it might help you in your suggestions. as always I do appreciate your help I'll attach my logo Thanks Ron  |

Of course I don't mind you using the idea. As for different issues that's what I trying to represent with the different coloured mags but as I only had the one source pic I simply changed the colour instead. 800 x 200/250 gives you a bit more room to play with so perhaps a perspective shot of your magazines laid out across the floor as a backdrop to the logo and you with your Hugh Heffner costume. _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |
