Help with Prop Rotation
I'm trying to create a more realistic prop rotation for this "flying" airplane. Original photo ![]() I cloned-out the dark area of the nose cone and then used the Gaussian blur. To create the prop rotation I used the elliptical marquee tool and filled the area with gray. ![]() |

Re: Help with Prop Rotation
To create the effect of the prop, you could draw the 3 propeller fins face on, then apply radial blur and twist it back round to match the plane. It's not the best example as I'm at work and did it quickly) ![]() ![]() _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: Help with Prop Rotation
One way would be to make a copy of the propeller to two new layers. Using Free Transform set the rotation apex (the dot in the middle of the Free Transform bounding box and move it to where the apex of the where propeller blades meet and rotate the blades around into new positions (following the roatation of the propeller) then use Blur/Radial Blur and select a spin of about 10-20 for each of the copies. You will need to make a selection from the original image of the propeller nose and the front part of the plane including the wing and using that selection delete the intersecting areas of the prop copy layers. Gosh that sounds really complicated and I have to admit it wasn't easy. But here is my quickie attempt. ![]() _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |
