New poster
Hi everyone
This is a poster for one of our 2012 season plays.
As always, feedback welcome: lighting, layout, whatever you think might be improved. I don't always agree, but I always listen!

Thanks again
Chris

Re: New poster
I like a lot about this - the feel, the atmosphere, and especially the way you've overlapped the Spider's Web lettering - very neatly tangled.

The two jokey plaques, though, imply that the play is a farce. I never like incorporating more text than absolutely necessary into an illustration. If you do need this concept (and I'm not sure you do), perhaps just one plaque with the words "tradesmen" and "blackmailers", with arrows pointing from them?

Re: New poster
Thanks Steve - That's made me think. Had not thought of arrows.
Firstly, it is a farce, so really pleased you said that.
I've tried the arrows, which i think do work better, but still on two plaques, which seems to make the joke because they've gone to the trouble of putting up an extra plaque for blackmailers? Or is that still too complicated?

Can you tell me what you think?

Yes, I think that works better. Always have as few words as you can on an illustration.

Perhaps a bit of shadow behind the plaques?

There is shadow below and to the left. Do you mean to make those shadpws bigger?

There's a bright spot on the wall just below the bottom plaque. If this is surrounded by a shadow cast by, say, a tree, then there should be a similar shadow/highlight on the plaques themselves.
