erasing outside selection?
This has never happened before! Made a selection, whacked a layer mask on it... and it's partly erasing outside the selection. Any ideas how to fix it? |

Can you be more specific? "Partly erasing" sounds like the area outside the selection is darker than pure white. Is this possible? As always, a screen grab would help. |

Re: erasing outside selection?
I've fixed it and now I can't recreate it. The only thing that's different about this selection is that I created it using channels with the threshold tool. Then I put a layer mask on the layer, then used a brush at 100% opacity (and black) to paint out the image within the selection. It partly removed the image within the selection (as if the brush was set at say 70%, AND it also removed the image outside the selection (as if the brush was set at 10%). In the end, I went through the whole process again... and it was fine! Very odd! |

Spooky. It's the Photoshop gremlins at work. |

Hate those buggers - especially when they turn up while I'm teaching! |

I thought that was the most likely time for them to turn up!! ![]() _________________ 90% of the work takes 10% of the time. 10% of the work takes 90% of the time. |
