Jet powered Albatross
I've been working on this for a short time and just felt I had to post it here

Nice job, Gordon! Here's a runway for you to land your Albatross! Watch out for the traffic and overpass!

Thanks for the runway Neil.
Do I take it that the 'splodge' on the bridge was the last pilot to try going under?

Nice idea Gordon!
But tell us more: how many photos did you use? I would say 3. Am I right?

Re: Jet powered Albatross
Hi Claude,
Yes just the 3 photographs with some layer masks and a bit of distorting to get the tailplane to fit correctly. I had 3 or 4 goes at distorting the engines until they looked right before I was satisfied. Even the slightest bit out and it looked wrong.

The original idea was for a Photoshop competition until I re-read the rules and realised that this would not be a valid entry. But I went ahead with it just for the fun.

I like very much the idea. One of the biggest difficulty is probably to find photos which are in the same perspective. Congratulations !

Hi Gordon, look there, you have competitors!

Look at "Eagle Air" and "Albatross Air".

Look here

You would have been able to participate. According to me, your image is so good at least as "Eagle Air".
Having said that, on this website, there are works which make me dream. I spend hours there …

Re: Jet powered Albatross
Hey Claude, thanks for that. I wish I had known about that one. I did actually enter the Albatross image in a competition at 'PixelAddiction' where it took second place. These sites (PixelAddiction and Worth 1000) seem to be very similar in conception.

Re: Jet powered Albatross
Gordon,
Thank you also for the address, I did not know this site. It is really interesting. I am amazed by the ideas and by the capacity which have the participants to find adapted images.
And congratulations for your silver medal

I too participated in 2 Worth1000's contests:

Cold air baloon
Rank: 11th/21

Libération de Paris
Rank: 37th/49.
Colorization is very hard !
And it is necessary to have time… I would never have been able to participate while I worked. I find that the time given to send the entries is too short.

Im looking forward to seeing this new concept, i get the impression everything is going to change on the site.
