Hi Chris Love it! In retrospect, I must admit that I was completely wrong with my approach - I was beating the viewer over the head with a dark idea when in fact the suggestion is more powerful. The fact that the chair looks new and is awaiting its first victim is not just chilling but fitting also. It's funny how one can't see the wood for the trees sometimes (no pun intended!) I do like this version better though - and desaturating the chair makes a subtle but important difference. Great work! I'm very impressed with your posters, which all convey their theme superbly. |

Hi Meltonian Firstly, thanks for the praise for my posters. I like the constructive criticism because that always improves the work, but it's also nice when folk like it just as it is! Subtley in a piece, however, is always a thin line, and when people question something you're not sure about yourself, you start to wonder. That's why this forum's so good, and why I post on it. You get both points of view and it gives you the persepctive you sometimes need to make a decision. Babybiker's comments convinced me I had taken the right approach. Your initial comments, however, gave me pause for thought, and I benefited from seeing both sides of the argument. Glad you like the final version! Working on ideas for Kafka's The Trial at the moment, so I'll post them when they're ready. God, I could really do with getting paid for some of this stuff! just as well I enjoy it. Thanks Anna I don't have a death obsession! This latest batch are mock posters for our latest production, Deathtrap (poster attached). it's about a playwrite who writes murder mysteries. These posters will hang on his study wall. Working on a poster for Kafka's The Trial at the moment, which is more about the murder of the soul... Will post when it's ready. C
