A frosty morning rose
Woke up this morning to -9 degrees and lots of beautiful hoar frost. We had just this single rosebud in the garden so I had to shoot it. Nikon D700 with Sigma 105mm macro lens, half a second @ f32 with fill-in flash. Colours enhanced and sharpened in Lab. Background then desaturated. ![]() _________________ I wondered why the baseball kept getting bigger. Then it hit me. |

Lovely pic, Gordon. It seems wrong somehow, having roses and frost at the same time! What's happening to the seasons?? |

Re: A frosty morning rose
Nice one, Gordon. I'm saving up for a 100mm macro lens myself... |

Very nice Gordon. Reminds me of a frosty morning in Stratford on Avon a while back. Everything had a similar frosty coat. ![]() |
