A frosty morning rose
Woke up this morning to -9 degrees and lots of beautiful hoar frost. We had just this single rosebud in the garden so I had to shoot it.
Nikon D700 with Sigma 105mm macro lens, half a second @ f32 with fill-in flash. Colours enhanced and sharpened in Lab. Background then desaturated.

Lovely pic, Gordon. It seems wrong somehow, having roses and frost at the same time! What's happening to the seasons??

Nice one, Gordon.

I'm saving up for a 100mm macro lens myself...

Re: A frosty morning rose
Very nice Gordon. Reminds me of a frosty morning in Stratford on Avon a while back. Everything had a similar frosty coat.
