The Moon
I was outside last night when I notices how clear the sky was for a change. I got my camera out and this was the result. I am quite pleased with it.

Re: The Moon
Wow, that's some kind of a lens, and sturdy tripod you have.
Great shot.

Thanks.

The lens was only equivalent to 400mm (200mm with a 2x extender). It was very small in the image as shown below.

Re: The Moon
Paul.
Great shot. I was also looking at the moon the other afternoon. Mine is nowhere as sharp as yours (no tripod) but was still quite impressed by my new lens. The 2nd picture has been transformed by 'exposure and gamma'. Over the top, but good to see the moon!

Re: The Moon
Well, I guess I'm not the only one taking pictures of the moon.
I was checking out my new zoom lens and still trying to figure out my camera.
Hope you don't mind if I share. I used a 2 sec. timer to help steady the shot.

Re: The Moon
I find it interesting to see different views of the moon taken at different times and from different places on the earth.

Here is a good link for moon shots. http://www.pbase.com/liquidstone/moon_shots

He is from the Philippines and uses a lens equivalent to 2300mm.

Still, it's something to aspire to

Re: The Moon
Paul,
I didn't get to see your first pic last time, it didn't come up, but that looks great. What kind of lens did you use?
Thanks for the link. That was cool also.

Re: The Moon
I used my 70-200mm lens with an extension tube that doubles it's range. It's still very short for moon photography.

This is a pic of it I took the other day.
