Le train de quelque part

Re: Le train de quelque part
There is a lovely feel to this image Veronique and the subdued tones work really well. Take care with lighting direction though, as the winged girl is lit from behind and to the right, whereas the eggs are lit from front right. Would the train also need to cast a shadow too?

There is something not quite right about the train in terms of size and perspective and I may be inclined to lose it altogether, as it fights the figures for attention. A trainless track may add further intrigue to the image. Also, the engine smoke looks like it's come from a cigarette and I think there is some more drama required here.

Thank you very much, Nick, for taking the time to analyse my picture, and for writing what you mean.
What i jhave to say right now is hard to say in english.
But i'm gonna try it!
I always have problems with lights and shadows.
I do not know how to draw and I have no sense of the light and perspective, these things which make the true talent.
I know it, i work hard to fix that, but that look never good.
But I have a style, and i can't go trough. i try. But i can't.
And this image works, in my eyes. Works very good, but, I repeat in my eyes... I love when someone watches and says "there's a trouble, but wich trouble?"
In French, I would have better expressed myself. I hope that you will understand the bottom of my thought.
With all my thanks
Véro

Hi Veronique
I have not touched the broken eggs, but have added some shading to the figures and enhanced the smoke / lights on the train. This purely to illustrate the points made earlier and is not meant to criticise your style, which is imaginative beyond anything I could think of.

Héhé, Nick, my picture is better in your eyes than in mines!
^^

The shadows are my nightmare!
^^
Thank you!
