Photoshop - Acoustic Guitar
Here is a new image I've been working on. It is based on my guitar that I have. It is a Takamine Acoustic/Electric Guitar. All done in photoshop. I'm pleased on how it turned out. The hard part for me was creating the shape of the guitar with the pen tool. Let me know what you think. ![]() Luis |

Re: Photoshop - Acoustic Guitar
This is superb Luis, to PS newbie like me, I find it hard to believe that this is all CGI. I especially like the mother-of-pearl inlay around the sound hole. On the top pic it looks like the front of the guitar is 'bowed' as with the older acoustic electric's favoured by the Jazz players. Does it have a bowed front? Finally, the metalwork is exceptional, especially the fret-wire and the strings. I would be interested to know how many hours it took you to complete. Thanks for sharing this, I love it. _________________ Mark Goodwin If you do what you have always done, you'll get what you've always got! |

Re: Photoshop - Acoustic Guitar
Hi Mark and laddition. I'm glad you both liked it.
No, It is not bowed. I did not intend to make it bowed. I also like how the mother-of-pearl inlay turned out. Before I was not sure on how to create that. What I did was took a piece of metal texture that I created and added the Stained Glass Filter to it. It took me two days to complete the guitar. I have one more picture to show which I forgot to show in the first post. I made some changes to it from the original pic becaues I was not happy on how it turned out. ![]() Luis |

As usual quite stunning: you're the best I know for this kind of work. It would be of interest to see a photo of your Takamine guitar for comparison. ![]() |

As you wish. Sorry for the quality of the pictures. I had no camera so I had to use my video camera. ![]() Luis |

Nice work, Luis! Glad to have nudged you into doing this one! I see Mark's point about the bowing: the wide bevel you've used on the front does make it look like there's a ridge around it. One thing, though: I'd rework some of the tuning heads to place them at different angles. It all looks a little too perfect! |

Takamine's are awesome, good stuff Luis. I use to draw far out electric guitars as a teenager during my English class usually, but never progressed to computer versions. Engineering them into reality was my largest doubt. _________________ Go Hard or Go Home! |
