Cool!!
Why don't you try to put a "movement" filter just in the middle circle, you know ... just to give the impression the music is really pomping out of the speaker...
Anyways, I really like it... did you make it with photoshop?

Beautiful. I like the texture of the cone.

The screw heads seem to be lit from lots of different angles, though. This is a job for Lighting Effects!

Re: Sound, please!
Excellent. But I was going to say the centre cone looks too much like 'noise'. Love the chrome effect.

That's rather inspiring. Very curious how you did that exactly. Only thing I would perhaps change would be to work on the screws making them more circular with uniform light across the inside of the +

The speaker is just brilliant though! Well done

I think you did a great job. I would also agree on the screws but, I would lower the gradient for the cone. To me it is to bright and it does not look right.. After I was looking at your picture, I got the idea to make my own speakers which I did.

As you can see, I used a Gradient Overlay Layer Style for the cone but I lowered the opacity and added some other layer styles (Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Bevel & Emboss, Satin, Pattern Overlay). As with all of my pictures, this speaker was done from scratch and only used layer styles for creating the speakers.

Luis
Have to say that's a superb piece of work. You really are the master of creating objects from scratch, but watch out because the new book will have us all creating things soon, so we'll be hard on your heels!

The image is so good, I just had to compare it with the real thing. I snapped a mid range unit in my old Linn Isobariks just for fun. The cone design is mid 70's, but the principle is the same and they still make a lovely noise.

If I dare make one small critique, I'd lose the bevel on the surround of the version with the grille. I believe the wood would be flat, or would be universal around the entire speaker.

Nick

Veronique...that is fantastic. Making anything from scratch in PS is a very difficult thing, , particularly without a tutorial. Well done.

Luis..you blow me away each time I see something of yours. Amazing!
