My Desk Drawer scene from 100% Photoshop
Hey everyone, I am new here and figured that I would post up my try at the Desk Drawer scene from the book. Sorry for the low-res, I had to re-size and compress it to meet the file-size requirements for the forum. Thanks for looking and have a great day!  |

Fantastic! Every object there is really well drawn - and I like your extra touches, such as the lit cigarette and the Zippo lighter. The only thing you need to have a look at now is scale: the coins and iPod are huge compared to the watch and pencil! Welcome to the forum Steve |

Is the wood grain of the top of the drawer 100% photoshop too? It looks very nice. |

Paul, thanks and yes it is. I went by the tutorial in the book and then adjusted the hue/saturation till I got the color I wanted. I also used the Liquefy tool to add randomness to it. I am very impressed with this book. It is a nice change of pace from the standard Ps books I have read. ~Brian |

Lovely work Brian My only crit would be that the coins are too big / bright and with slightly too much contrast. Other than that - fantastic. Nick |

Thanks Nick, I was actually thinking the same thing about the coins. I will work on the scale and brightness/contrast to see if I can get them to fit into the scene a little better. |

Beautiful. I have to say, it's most gratifying that you're able to recreate the image with so much detail and accuracy. One small point: having the cigarette running exactly horizontally makes it look artificial. Just as you've done with all the objects in the drawer, try rotating it and the ashtray a few degrees for more realism. |
