Talking of reflections ...
I took this in Bristol. It's interesting that the two people walking by aren't reflected anywhere in the sphere. And for that matter, neither am I! http://www.kate.wilkey.org.uk/reflections_bristol.jpg |

Re: Talking of reflections ...
Katew, I think the reflections of the people higher on the sphere are the people walking by, no? Great shot by the way! |

Great shot Kate. According to my understanding you will only see your image when it is 90 degrees to your line of sight. But you are, but maybe not 100%, i.e. "caught in the cracks" between the plains of the segments? |

I agree with Steve - both people seem to be reflected, judging from their clothing and the way they're pulling their suitcases. You, however, remain conspicuously absent. Have you noticed any odd pairs of toothmarks on your neck lately? |

Re: Talking of reflections ...
Looking at the shot again, the panels look flat on the horizontal plane. The people in the shot are closer together in the reflection. Maybe your reflection is right between where the joints are in the panels. but because you are not lined up with one of the panels, no reflection. The farther you look up at the reflection in the sphere, the more the sidewalk pattern breaks up. Remember, the panels are not curved, they are more like separate mirrors at slightly different angles. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. Great shot, you managed to not get yourself in the photo without trying! |
