Digital Nature ...

I made this image (all digital) based on a 100 years old black and white photo (from my childhood ) that was taken during a vacation. The biggest challenge was to distribute the snow over the mountain. Vue Infinite, Photoshop and Poser were used.

Daniel, Those mountains are great. I am amazed you can create them!

Very, very only small points.

From where I live at +54 north Mountains face north or south have snow difference. The snow on the south is less, Norway more, or maybe not?!.

Sorry again, great creative image, makes me think, thanks for sharing

Trevor

Trevor, I really appreciate your comments. Your observation is completely right. I just looked at a few old photos and confirmed what what you are saying. It is always more snow on one side of the mountain. I think I need to add an "orientation dependency" attribute (Vue language) to the snow distribution. Thanks again ...

Re: Digital Nature ...
Good call, Trevor.

Daniel, the mountain (snow issues aside) is great, and the reflection is most impressive.

The problem for me is the texture of the boat, which screams "3D model" and doesn't look remotely real. There are several problems here: the grain is running across the boat, rather than along its length; the boat looks like it's pressed out of a single piece of plastic, rather than built from individual strakes; and the saturation is far too strong.

Are those trees a bit too multicoloured?

Steve, you are absolutely right about the texture of the boat. I will try to correct it. I am not sure about the color distribution among the trees. I will definitely experiment with a lower dynamic range. Thanks so much for your feedback. I really appreciate it.
