Dog Drawing
Here is something new that I created in photoshop. I only used the paintbrush, Smudge, Burn and Dodge Tools. As you can see, I started out with basic shapes to create the dog's face. Then I used the paintbrush to create the basic shape of the dog and added some dark areas. Then I used the Smudge, Burn and Dodge Tools.

I'm happy on how it turned out and I'm sure there are some areas that need to be improved. Let me know what you think about it.

Luis

Re: Dog Drawing
It's fantastic Luis and thank you for showing us the different stages. I am just wondering if there ought to be more differentiation between the paler and darker parts of the eyes. Otherwise it's great and I particularly like the way you have done the nose.

Do you have a dog?

Very nice Luis. He's got the same doleful eyes that my woofer, Charley, has.

Re: Dog Drawing
I'm glad you all like my image. Originally, this was a pencil drawing lesson, which I wanted to try. Then I decided to try this in photoshop, which it took almost a day to create. I’m sure it would have been easier if I was using a tablet, but since I don’t have one, I had to use the mouse.

Sophie,

Thanks for the suggestion and no, I don’t have a dog. I have two cats.

Superb Luis!

So you could have done a real-lif pencil drawing, and then scanned it into your computer---what gives you better control: mouse/photoshop, or real pencil/brush?

I prefer using my top-of-the-line Microsoft 8000 series inteli mouse to a graphics tablet. The trick for multi-sensitivity and ultra precision is to have a dirt/particle-free mousemat.
